It appears that Lorna remembers a H/C boy Alec Turner who is in all probability Alec Pepperal. Alec is a H/C Afgahn Aboriginal whose mother may be Minnie. He came to Pine Creek about 4 years ago from Stirling Station. Approved. (2) Application for Marriage Licence 1941 Roy Tilmouth H/C, 21 years, discharged to employment from the Alice Springs Halfcaste Institution on 12.11.1935 and Maggie Martin H/C, 25 years, admitted to the Alice Springs Halfcaste Institution on 18. 1.1941 Maggie is pregnant. Approved. (3) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 John Clemens of Alice Springs to Doll Schaber 1/4C residing at Mt Riddock Station Alice Springs. Doll's parents agree. John Clemens about to go south to join AIF. Approved. (4) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 John Ludgate, 51 years, father white mother H/C to Emily Bennett, 45 years, father Afgahn mother H/C. They have been living together for some 20 years. Approved. (5) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 Merv Andrew, 30 years, of Alice Springs, originally from Port Lincoln South Australia to Myrtle McDonald, 28 years, of the Alice Springs who has two illegitimate children aged 6 years and 4 years at the Alice Springs Halfcaste Institution. Merv Andrew is willing to look after the children although he is not the father. Approved. (6) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 Norman Bray H/C, 25 years to Milly Woodford H/C, 25 years at present carrying out domestic duties for Mrs D D Smith of Alice Springs. Approved. (7) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 Dan kennedy, exempt H/C, 26 years to a lubra Myrtle with whom he has been living for a period of six years. Approved. (8) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 Arthur Ballingal, 38 years, miner at Hatches Creek to Topsy, 28 years. They have been living together for about 3 years. Approved. (9) Application for Marriage Licence 1941 Len, father F/B mother H/C, 21 years, resides in the native camp at Hamilton Downs with his patrents, wishes to marry Ruby, 25 years, removed from Alice SPrings to Jay Creek a few weeks ago. Parents of both parties approve. No special permit necessary for the marriage. (10) Application for Marriage Licence 1940 Milton Liddle, exempt 1/4C father white mother H/C, to Polly F/B. Milton has been living with Polly at Hatches Creek for 5 years. Milton and Polly have two male children 2 years and six months old. Result uncertain. (11) Application for Marriage Licence 1941 George Turner H/C, 24 years to Ruby Webb (Ranbarran) H/C, 23 years. Ruby has been an inmate of the Alice Springs Halfcaste Institution since 28. 9.1928. (12) Application for Marriage Licence 1941 William (Bill) Turner of Alice Springs to Peggy Wallace. Married at the Alice Springs Halfcaste Institution on 30.12.1941. They left for Alcoota Station the following day. (13) Application for Marriage Licence 1942 Jack Gibbs H/C, 25 years to Melba Palmer H/C, 26 years. Jack came from the Roper Valley with Mr R Chisholm of Bond Springs. (14) Application for Marriage Licence 1942 Cpl L Miller of the Provost Company Alice Springs to Tilly Tilmouth H/C domestic working in Alice SPrings. Tilly has had more than one illegitimate child before.
