Toby stated he had the disease for years. Number 68 - Maggie, near Charleville Maggie described as a half-caste gin. Letter dated 30. 9.1898 states Maggie is a H/C, aged 20 years from Charleville. Lives in a black's camp near Charleville. States she was from Dillalah Stn near Charleville. Maggie (Maggie Playfair) died 1. 2.1903 at Stradbroke Island Lazaret, aged 27 years. Number 71 - Charlie Cover sheet only. Died 12. 4.1899 at Eight Mile near Cooktown. Number 90 - Annie, from Mackay Cover sheet only. Number 92 - Tommy Blue, from Frasers Island Telegram dated 16. 4.1902 states Tommy Blue aged 42 years died 11. 4.1902 at Friday Island Lazaret. Number 93 - Jim, from Georgetown Cover sheet states 'his leper escaped from the custody of the Georgetown Police and has not been recovered. It is probable that he perished in the bush'. Letter dated 15.11.1899 states Jim has leprosy. Letter dated 4.11.1899 states Jimmy, aged 50 years, from the Etheridge district currently in the Police Barrack Yard at Georgetown. Letter dated 20.10.1904 states Dick to be kept at Stradbroke Island Lazaret for three months for observation. Number 118 - Jackie Cover sheet only COL /275 1911 - 1931 David Armstrong, of Innisfail Declared a leper on 17. 7.1925. Letter dated 26. 7.1925 states that David Armstrong was aged 20 years and was discovered at Sundown near Innisfail. He was working at Sundown. Letter dated 13. 8.1925 mentions the following as suspected lepers Jimmy Brogan @ Jimmy Brocham Peter Finger George David Armstrong (confirmed) Archie, from Rockhampton Letter dated 4.11.1925 states Archie sent from Rockhampton to Peel Island Lazaret. Alexander, from Yarrabah Report dated 1. 8.1917 states Alexander aged about 20 years and is a gardener at Yarrabah. Letter dated 7.10.1920 states Alexander H/C aged 27 years and does Mission work at Yarrabah. Letter dated 21.10.1920 mentions Reynald Wallace Alexander Nancy Alexander ended up not having leprosy. Poiser or Passer or Pepone, a quadroon Cover sheet only. Dates mentioned 1904, 1908 and 1905 Badger, of Hawkwood Letter dated 15.10.1914 mentions Badger of Hawkwood as a suspected leper and also Mitchell who is being held at Eidsvold. Letter dated 16.10.1914 states Badger about 60 years old and doesnt have a wife or children. Letter dated 23.10.1914 states Billy Mitchell declared a leper. Letter dated 26.10.1914 states Badger is a leper. Letter dated 30.10.1914 states Badger is very feeble and almost blind and has never been out of the Hawkwood district. Letter dated 10.11.1914 mentions leper patients John Malary Billy Mitchell Badger Banis, from Moa Island Report dated 27. 8.1917 states Banis aged about 45 years and a Torres Strait Islander. He is a seaman and resident at Adam, Moa Island. Found not to be a leper. Barney Cobbo Report dated 16. 8.1924 states Barney Cobbo, who resides at Taroom, has leprosy and is to be removed to Peel Island Lazaret. Letter dated 5. 4.1932 states Barney Cobbo is to be released from the Lazaret. Suspected Thursday Island Lepers Reports dated 30. 8.1908 give the following information Pablo, aged about 40 years, resides Bretichaugh, Ducie River Billy, aged 36 years, resides Bretichaugh, Ducie River William, aged ?20 or ?30 years, resides Bretichaugh, Ducie River George, aged about 35 years, resides Bretichaugh, Ducie River Billy and Pablo declared to be lepers in 1908. William and George not lepers. Bob, of Innisfail Report dated 25.11.1920 states Bob is a native of Jordan Creek, South Johnstone, and aged about 55 years. He is married to Polly and they have one child named Jack and aged about 12 months. Bob was under Agreement at Japoon in the South Johnstone district. Letter dated 12.10.1921 states Bob arrived Brisbane on way to Peel Island Lazaret. Banjo Bond of Eidsvold Letter dated 18. 9.1928 states Banjo Bond aged about 50 years and a native of Eidsvold. Banjo is married with a wife and children aged 17, 15, 12, 8 and 6 years. Letter dated 1.10.1928 states Banjo Bond is a half-caste and is exempt. He will be sent to Peel Island Lazaret. Letter dated 19.10.1928 states Lizzie Bond is the wife of Banjo Bond. Letter dated 1. 4.1931 states Banjo Bond to be discharged from Peel Island Lazaret. Jimmy Brogan @ Jimmy Brocham, of Cairns Report dated 17. 7.1925 states Jimmy Brogan @ Jimmy Brocham aged 35 years was discovered at Edmonton near Cairns. During the last three years he was camped in the Gordonvale Police District. In that time he did no work. In November 1914 two Aboriginals named Billy Mitchell and Badger were sent to the Lazaret from the same locality. They stayed together at Deebing Creek and for a short time in a tent at Myora where she left him six weeks ago and returned to Deebing Creek.
